Headliners announced for the In It Together Festival

The first round of artists have been unveiled for the festival described as the ‘Welsh Glastonbury’.

Back in August it was announced that a new 40,000 capacity three day music festival, described as ‘Wales’ biggest ever multi-genre music and entertainment experience’ was to be staged on a farm in Margam next summer.

The ‘In It Together Festival’ promises to bring something that Wales has never seen before according to the event organisers: ‘40,000 people, eight stages of world-class, multi-genre music, and three days of rich entertainment and cultural enlightenment that will go down in history’.

Now the first round of acts have been revealed including headliners – Two Door Cinema Club, Noel Gallagher and Clean Bandit.

In addition, a supporting bill of multi-genre acts – from Welsh stars such as Gwenno and Bandicoot to soul legends such as Gabrielle and Soul II Soul, to indie favourites Editors and The Vaccines and international dance stars such as Armand Van Helden and Todd Terry – have been revealed.

To be staged between 3rd – 5th June, 2022 at Newlands Farm, Margam, the family-friendly festival comes courtesy of Swansea-based Escape Records, the team Behind ‘Inside Out,’ ‘Colour Clash,’ ‘Escape,’ and ‘Party At The Park’.

Many more acts will revealed in the coming weeks.

The Escape team have previously launched three hugely successful festivals Inside Out, Colour Clash and Party At The Park – each with capacities ranging from 5000 to 15,000 people.

But now they say this Glastonbury-style multi-stage festival is ‘the biggest and boldest of them all’.

“In It Together Festival will have a key spotlight on local talent as the team have been working hard to unearth the next Welsh superstars with their Welsh Artist Spotlight Scheme,” said a festival spokesperson.

“More than 50 talents nurtured by the scheme will all play on the carefully curated Forgotten Garden Stage, showcasing their skills on a fantastic platform that will truly establish them as leaders of the next generation.”

Eccentric colour

In It Together Festival will host eight stages, all with different themes and unique offerings, promising the biggest dance tent Wales has ever seen.

“You could check out the wide array of international talents on the main Parc Stage who will bring rock, pop, indie and urban,” said the spokesperson.

“Panchaia is all about dance music with a mix of disco, techno and house across the weekend.

“The Paddock Stage is the place to discover red hot emerging acts from the indie and rock world, while the Escape Records Stage will feature the various sounds and artists showcased across the label, covering house, bass and grime.

“Or you could immerse yourself in a world of eccentric colour and unique characters on the The Wonky Lizard Stage, featuring takeovers from Haus Of Fabulous, where infectious personalities from the LGBTQ+ world will offer up comprehensive programmes of drag, comedy and DJ sets.”

Location of Newlands Farm, Margam

Mental health and wellbeing will also be an important component of the festival. The Retreat will offer a variety of classes, demonstrations and speeches from experts and insiders.

In addition for younger revellers, Tic Tac Toe is a family activity area hosted by Junior Jungle offering 10 hours of family activities each day.

Finally, The Miami Club will offer a VIP experience, complete with its own separate camp site.

Camping options will include a luxury site with bell tents, tipis and yurts, with a separate, quieter campsite for those who want to relax and bring their own tents, plus a dedicated campsite for 16-17-year-olds and a louder, more party-ready campsite for those who want to stay up later.
