Thousands of Swansea and Newport supporters will return to the terraces today and tomorrow for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

At the Liberty Stadium, 3,000 Swans fans will be back as Swansea face Barnsley in the second leg of the Championship play-off semi-final today.

The Swans have a goal advantage over the visitors after the first leg.

It is part of the Welsh Government’s pilot scheme which wants to see fans return to sporting events safely after the pandemic.

The lucky fans have been randomly selected through a ballot scheme and all of them will have to wear a mask and follow the appropriate guidelines.

Kick-off will be at 18:30 on Saturday.

Newport are hoping to gain promotion to League One.

They have a two-goal advantage over Forest Green Rovers after the first leg of the Second Division play-offs.

There were 900 home fans at that game, the first time a crowd had attended a sporting event in Wales in 438 days.

Kick-off, away from home, will be at 6.30pm on Sunday.
