Boris Johnson has complained about the “romantic urges” of his Welsh dog Dilyn.

The UK Prime Minister said the pet, which he adopted with his wife Carrie in 2019, was “endlessly” up “on people’s legs”.

He made the comments as he chatted to police dog handlers with Home Secretary  Priti Patel, after witnessing a display by the Surrey force’s canine officers.

Johnson asked an officer about the behaviour of a German Shepherd called Zorro at the police base in Guidford, saying: “Do you have to worry about his romantic urges?”

After being informed that this was not an issue with Zorro, Johnson added “my dog is endless…. on people’s legs”.

It has previously been reported that Boris Johnson “called for someone to shoot” Jack Russell-cross Dilyn due to its penchant for chewing expensive books and furniture at Chequers.

The dog was rescued as a puppy from a breeder in Wales by Friends of Animals Wales because he had a misaligned jaw and was going to be put down.

Carrie Symonds is the Head of Communications of the Aspinall Foundation animal preservation charity and is said to be very fond of Dilyn.

‘Damage’

But according to the Daily Mail, Dilyn has caused so much damage at Boris Johnson’s country retreat in Buckinghamshire that the Prime Minister was forced to pay over £1,000 for repairs.

A source told the newspaper Johnson was meeting colleagues at the house when Dilyn “darted under the PM’s feet with an old book in its mouth”.

The Prime Minister shouted: “For God’s sake, I’m going to get another £1,000 repair bill! Someone please shoot that fucking dog!”, according to the source, who added: “I don’t think he meant it literally.”

It was also said that Dilyn had urinated in the house during an important meeting about foreign affairs, enraging Johnson further.

He also urinated against the bag of a former special advisor, Katie Lam, in 10 Downing Street, it has been claimed.

It is a well-known fact that dogs imitate their masters. So what you have to do is set them a good example!

Boris may be worried that Dilyn is possibly better at it ! As for stopping the habit on people’s legs all he has to do is take his nuts off. On reflection that should have been done to Boris as well, a long time ago.

The only answer is to have him neutered. Boris that is not the dog.
