The date of the upcoming election is incorrect on the webpage of a Liberal Democrat Police and Crime Commissioner candidate.

On a profile of Lisa Wilkins, who is standing for North Wales PCC, it states that the election is on March 6, which has already been, instead of May 6.

The vote is scheduled to take place on the same date as the Senedd election.

The error is on the website of North Wales Liberal Democrats, which also says that the candidate is “inspired” by the “sea, mountains and the outdoors”.

On the webpage, it says: “Lisa will be standing as the Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate in the Police & Crime Commissioner in Old Colwyn.

“Elections will take place on 6th of March 2021 alongside the Senedd local and regional elections. Sharpen your pencil, you’ll be crossing lots of boxes!”

‘Inspired’

It adds: “Lisa lives with her husband and two children in beautiful Rhos on Sea. Inspired by the sea, mountains and the outdoors she loves; Lisa believes our access to outdoor spaces provides an important part of our well-being and growth.

“Lisa has worked in education with children and adults across all age ranges and she is currently a childminder.”

Lisa Wilkins said: “If elected I would prioritise getting the resources directly to the services that need them.

“Unlike the huge bureaucracy built up by the current PCC I’d streamline the management teams and push that money into funding on the ground services.

“We need a grown up discussion that links to mental health and community support. How much time and money could be saved and spent more wisely if instead of criminalising mental health problems, we treated them responsibly as a society?

“Let’s look again at the effort poured into tackling Cannabis use; let’s separate responsible recreational usage from the dangerous gang activity. Let’s go after the criminals who simply exploit an prohibitions style underworld.”
