A former candidate for the seat of Torfaen in the south-east of Wales has had the Conservative whip removed while he is being investigated for allegedly watching pornography in the Commons chamber.

Neil Parish MP, who stood in Torfaen in 1997 and lost by 24,536 votes in that year’s Labour landslide, was named by the Conservative chief whip, Chris Heaton-Harris, as the man at the centre of the allegations by a female MP.

A spokeswoman for Tory Chief Whip Chris Heaton-Harris said: “Having spoken to the Chief Whip this afternoon, Neil Parish MP is reporting himself to the Standards Committee of the House of Commons.

“Mr Parish has been suspended from the Conservative Whip pending the outcome of that investigation.”

Two female Tory MPs had claimed during a meeting with senior party figures on Tuesday evening to have seen Neil Parish watching pornography, the Telegraph reported.

Mr Parish is the chairman of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee. He was first elected to Parliament in the 2010 General Election as the MP for Tiverton and Honiton.

I thought the Conservatives reached the lowest depths of hell. How wrong was I to think they had a limit to their depravity.

The judging panel would like to thank the governing ‘Scandal a day’ party for helping us to make this easy decision so we can announce that the ‘Hardest working group of people’ award for 2022 goes to ……. THE PARLIAMENTARY STANDARDS COMMITTEE.

According to Neil Parish he “accidentally” opened a link to a Porn site. I suggest his phone be confiscated and the history of his browser activity and downloading information whether he accidentally visited will still be there on the phone’s memory. But I find it funny how these career MPs who keep on telling us how good and competent they are either didn’t realise they were attending a party multiple times against their own Covid laws like PM Boris Johnson did or like Tory MP Neil Parish naively opened a link while in the House of Commons to a seedy… Read more »

New scandal, so people start to get over the last one. Johnson said he would do this, lonhbbefore becoming PM. Bad enough his party are claiming to be at war, abusing others suffering in Ukraine.
