Welsh rock star Mike Peters has been injured in a fall near his home.

The musician was out for his daily cross country run with the family dog Ziggy, when the singer took a tumble, falling a few feet between a country stile onto a tarmac track in between fields.

Mike’s wife Jules Peters said: “He was running alone and with no phone. He dragged himself a few miles across fields of sheep back to his car, trying to guide Ziggy as best he could.

“He then phoned me calmly to let me know that he was on his way to A & E where he was examined and x-rayed with fantastic care from the NHS.

“It was found he had a broken elbow, bruised chest and thigh. Mikey is officially in the wars but still smiling. If it wasn’t challenging, it wouldn’t be a challenge.”

Jules added: “Special thanks to the NHS staff and Accident & Emergency care, Dr Siva, Siân Jones and Julie Logan for their flawless and timely service.”

Staycations

Bandaged up and back home, it’s a hugely busy time for the singer and his family.

After writing the official Wales anthem ‘The Red Wall of Cymru’, he’s become a regular fixture on national TV and radio.

His injury comes a week before Mike and Jules launch a series of Alarm Staycations for fans at their newly opened Chapel apartments in the couple’s home village of Dyserth in north Wales.

Get well soon Mike. Watched you at the Merthyr Rising a few years back. You were excellent.

I’d be slightly more sympathetic if there wasn’t a photo of him and his wife standing on a wet flat roof with his arm in a sling. Tempting fate

He’s just broken his elbow so he’s due for something good to happen next to balance things out. Slings and roundabouts as they say.
I’ll get me coat…

I’m alarmed he’s standing on a wet roof.
