A man has pleaded guilty to spitting on Welsh Conservative MP Jamie Wallis outside a railway station.

Kenny Defelice, 44, of Kenton Road in Harrow, north-west London, assaulted the Bridgend MP at London Paddington station on September 24 last year.

Defelice, dressed in a striped T-shirt, beige jeans and white trainers, entered a guilty plea at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

He also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest.

Tom Heslop, prosecuting, told the court that Mr Wallis was outside the station on his mobile phone when he was approached by Defelice who asked for a cigarette.

Defelice kept on requesting a cigarette and then spat towards Mr Wallis.

The prosecutor said the spit landed on the MP’s chest and chin, adding that Defelice admitted in interview to spitting at Mr Wallis.

Defelice was granted unconditional bail and will be sentenced on August 24.

Yeah, but for all his faults and failings, that was a vile thing for someone to do to anyone.
He’s an awful MP and a pretty amoral sort of person (websites to assist adulterers and sugar daddies etc), but I wouldn’t spit on him even then.

It is still “him” isn’t it? I’m yet to see any movement on the whole transgender transitioning that usually follows such an announcement. Not my business of course but I am beginning to wonder if it was a gambit designed to elicit sympathy before his court case

So cynical of you.

Next thing, you’ll be suggesting that it was the MP who approached the spitter first and was sprayed as a form of refusal.

Abuse of our politicians is not acceptable.

Disagree with them, yes. Challenge them (lawfully) yes. But abuse them – never!

There will come a point, however, at which their abuse of us will inevitably be returned with more vigour than mere spitting.

as long as they’re getting gobbed on for being a tory, and not for their gender or sexuality, it’s fine by me. I am a progressive, after all.
