Over half the people of Wales expect Covid restrictions to be reintroduced at some point in the next six months, and almost nine in ten said it should happen in deaths began increasing again.

According to research by Public Health Wales, 54% believed that we will see other restrictions such as social distancing and pub closures brought back in Wales over Autumn or Winter.

Furthermore, 87% thought restrictions should be tightened if deaths began to increase again. 86% said restrictions should be brought back if hospitalisations increased, and 75% if cases rose.

The survey comes as the case rate in Wales has risen to 334.1 cases per 100,000. Hospital admissions are also rising but they remain at about 20% of the level they were at during the second wave.

Masks

Every two weeks, Public Health Wales conducts interviews with hundreds of people aged 18 or over across Wales, to understand how Coronavirus and the measures being used to prevent its spread are affecting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of people in Wales.

The latest Novel Coronavirus public engagement survey report from Public Health Wales covers the period of 16th to 23rd August 2021, when 620 people were surveyed.

The survey also showed that one in five – 21% – in Wales knew someone who had died of Covid-19.

77% supported the continued requirement for face coverings in shops and other indoor public places in Wales, while only 18% did not.

89% of all participants that had had two coronavirus vaccine doses said they would want a booster vaccination if they were offered one.

Anything :positive from the Welsh Government would be refreshing….
there has been a terrible outbreak of fear in Wales…the wearing of masks breeds fear and dread….and some people have had enough of not being treated like adults……..
