Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price announces return to Senedd after paternity leave
Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price has announced his return to the Senedd after a period of paternity leave – and posted a picture of new daughter Senena.
The first gay leader of a political party in Wales became a father for the first time to a baby boy in 2018, before becoming a father again earlier this year.
He posted a message on social media saying: “Happy to be returning to work and the Senedd with new energy today after being on parental leave.
“Even happier to be able to introduce our beautiful new daughter, Senena, to you all.”
Adam Price announced at the party’s spring conference in March that he and his partner were expecting a daughter.
At the end of his speech he said: “To finish on a bit of personal good news, I’d like to share with you I’m going to become a father again, in June, this time to a baby daughter.
“So whatever happens at the election, it’s going to be a good summer – though a busy one too.”

During his absence Arfon’s Sian Gwenllian MS has been Plaid Cymru Deputy Leader, while Rhun ap Iorwerth is Deputy Leader of the Plaid Cymru group in the Senedd, and Liz Saville-Roberts the Westminster leader.
Speaking of becoming a father in 2018, Adam Price said: “It’s as amazing as everyone said it would be.
“It’s fantastic. Every morning, if I’ve had a rough time in the rough and tumble of politics I just look at his smiling face.
“He’s begun to say nana for bananas and a leaflet came through the door with my face on it. The best moment of this election was when he looked at the face and he said ‘Da-da’.
“One word that I’m keen that he doesn’t learn is Brexit”.
