All Senedd business is to be suspended until after the Queen’s funeral, apart from an opportunity to pay tribute to her on Sunday.

Members of the Senedd will gather to pay tribute to the Queen and “reflect on her long life, devoted to public service,” the institution said.

Y Llywydd has recalled the Senedd for an extraordinary session which will begin at 3.00pm on Sunday, 11th September. The motion of condolence will be broadcast live on senedd.tv.

The motion states “That this Senedd expresses its deep sadness at the death of Her Majesty The Queen and offers its sincere condolences to His Majesty The King and other Members of the Royal Family.

“We recognise Her Majesty’s enduring commitment to public service and duty, including her support for many Welsh charities and organisations, and her lifelong association with Wales and its people.”

All other Senedd business and events are suspended during the period of national mourning, and the building is closed to the public until the State Funeral has been held.

The Welsh parliament was due to return next week after the summer break.

Flags have been lowered to half-mast outside all Senedd buildings, in Cardiff and Colwyn Bay.

Isn’t there a “Yes Prime Minister” sketch where politicians first say something can be done but now’s not the right time to do it and end up saying something could have been done but no longer so they always have layer of protection from ever having to do anything?

We’ve just had Westminster effectively suspended during Tory leadership contest, we going into period where that political house will be suspended due to party conferences and now in the few days between the two where every house open we’re having more suspensions….there is still a cost of living crisis, right?

The only person who would not have jumped on this bandwagon of inaction and abandonment would, of course, have been the Queen…

Attention Titanic Bridge; all will retire to the wardroom whilst we mourn the passing of the iceberg…

I’m mourning the accession of an idiot who has so insensitively rushed to announce that his son will replace him as Prisoner of Witlessness.

Absolute madness the world can’t stop because an admittedly lovely old lady who has done a sterling job has died.

Don’t pay any of them then. Democracy is more important than an old English Royal’s death. She was a leech on life. Time they stopped playing Disney and Cymru had a grown up governemnt
