Swansea University is going to host the inaugural Hillary Rodham Clinton Global Challenges Summit.

The event in November, which will be convened by the former US Secretary of State, will bring together world-leading experts, thinkers and other household names.

They will discuss some of the most pressing issues we face, including the climate crisis, global health, harnessing technology for good, and social justice. This year, the Summit’s theme is partnerships for a post-Covid world.

It will take place virtually from November 8th to 10th 2021. Participants will include current and former world leaders as well as globally recognised leaders from industry, politics and non-governmental organisations.

All discussions and panels will be live streamed and free to attend, and pre-registration is now open.

‘Right moment’

Swansea University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Boyle, said: “This is the right moment to talk about how we work together using what we have learned during the pandemic to make progress on the greatest challenges we face as a global community.

“Over the past year and a half, Swansea University has delivered innovative and creative solutions to support our community through the pandemic and other challenges.

“We hope that this Summit will harness that spirit and provide a global platform to bring people and organisations together from around the world, to consider how we can harness the strength of our partnerships to make a real difference where it is most needed.

“We are proud be working with Secretary Clinton to create conversations with some truly inspirational global change-makers.”

Sessions and speakers will be announced over the coming weeks with the full schedule published in October, the university has said.
