Rishi Sunak v Liz Truss debate called off after presenter faints
The TalkTV/Sun Tory leadership debate dramatically went off-air after political editor Kate McCann fainted.
As Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss were clashing once again over taxes, NHS funding and the economy in their second head-to-head televised debate, a loud crash interrupted the two Tory rivals.
The Foreign Secretary looked visibly worried and could be heard saying “oh my god”, as she walked off the stage.
The programme immediately went off-air, with a message appearing on the screen, saying: “We are sorry for the disruption to this programme.
“We are working hard to fix the issue and will return to normal programming soon.”
Journalists at the event were told there had been a medical issue not a security alert, and the debate would go back on air if possible.

However it was later confirmed that the debate would not be resumed.
TalkTV said in a statement: “Kate McCann fainted on air tonight and although she is fine, the medical advice was that we shouldn’t continue with the debate.
“We apologise to our viewers and listeners.”

This was going to be broadcast on the same News UK owned channel that brings Piers Morgan Uncensored to the masses, and featured an audience of sun newspaper readers. Having checked a bit as a result of your post, I didn’t realise that Gypsies were also once referred to as Egyptians. Sort of makes sense. Jarman is a good translation from the Welsh…Abram Wood was the patriarch and was the man who brought the first fiddle to Wales in the early to mid 18th century, so the story goes. His body was found on the roadside a few miles from the church, he was 99 years of age or thereabouts. The grave with slab is just outside the entrance to the church…it is a wonderful spot, similar to my dad’s in Llanaber…they both get the worst of the weather off the sea. Another couple of titles in a Welsh theme are Cledwyn Hughes’ ‘West with the Tinkers’ a lovely book but rare and a few bob esp. with a dust wrapper. Another is George Borrow’s Lavengro…plenty editions and only a few quid. Your public library for Cledwyn and ebay or abe for Borrow…keep up the good posting, mate….
Glad to hear that Kate McCann is OK, but for a right wing Murdoch media presenter to be felled by the hot air of these two contestants does suggest that they really have nothing useful to say. They don’t live in the real world inhabited by the 99% and have no intention of trying to make life better for the 99%. I does really look as if the only person with their feet on the ground is Mick Lynch. Kier Starmer please study and emulate.
