Ryan Reynolds has revealed he’s going to take some time off from acting to focus on Wrexham AFC.

The Deadpool star, who co-owns the non-league Welsh football club with fellow Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney, said he plans to take a break from the big screen next year.

He added that he buys into “things that are already excellent” and that “Wrexham was already amazing” when he came along.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Times, Reynolds said: “I’m taking time off from making movies. Next year I’ll work on my businesses, including Wrexham AFC. I don’t mind if I’m called an entrepreneur rather than an actor.

“And I know I don’t invent things. I buy into things that are already excellent. Wrexham was already amazing when I came along.”

He added: “Movies, drinks, dating and now Wrexham FC . . . No, I’m not trying to take over your Saturday. I just see companies that work and I think I can help be better.

“A lot of celebrities just want to promote aspirational products. What about things that are everyday and essential but still great?”
