Nine Wales fans get stuck in a lift in Moldova
A group of Welsh football fans became trapped in a lift in Moldova for two hours yesterday.
The Welsh fans were staying at the Cosmos Hotel in Chișinău, the capital and largest city of the Republic of Moldova, on Monday night.
Nine Welsh fans became stuck, including Bedwyr Jones, Ieuan Savage, Garmon Ceiro and Aled Elwyn.
One of those who were stuck, Garmon Ceiro, said that the “worst thing” about the experience was that two of his fellow passengers “came from Gwynedd”.
Another, Aled Elwyn, tweeted: “Please grandfather, tell us about the time you were stuck in the lift in Moldova? No child, we never talk about the lift – it’s too soon.”
Wales play Moldova in the World Cup Qualifiers First round at 7.45pm on Tuesday at Zimbru Stadium, Chișinău.
