Reform civil war breaks out as Lowe suspended amid bullying claims

Reform UK has stripped Rupert Lowe of the whip and accused him of making “threats of physical violence” towards the party chairman a day after he criticised leader Nigel Farage.
In a statement on Friday, Reform said it had also received evidence from staff of “derogatory and discriminating remarks made about women” by Mr Lowe, who was elected to his Great Yarmouth seat last year.
He was also alleged to have “on at least two occasions made threats of physical violence” to Reform chairman Zia Yusuf, who said the matter was now “with the police”, without saying which force.
‘Vexatious’
Mr Lowe denied the claims, describing the statement as “vexatious” and said it was “no surprise” that it had come a day after he raised “reasonable and constructive questions” about Reform leader Mr Farage.
“I am disappointed, but not surprised, to read Reform’s untrue and false allegations,” he said.
“A complete inability to accept even the most mild constructive criticism without such a malicious reaction is not effective leadership.”
The party claimed it had received complaints from two women, one working in Mr Lowe’s parliamentary office and one in his constituency office, about his behaviour.
It claimed evidence was provided of the “targeting of female staff who raised concerns” and of remarks “including reference to a perceived disability”, and suggested allegations had been made to parliamentary authorities.
‘Duty of care’
“We feel we have a duty of care to all our staff, whether employed directly or indirectly,” the statement by Mr Yusuf and chief whip Lee Anderson said.
“Accordingly, we appointed an independent King’s Counsel to conduct an investigation into the veracity of these complaints. To date, Mr Lowe has yet to co-operate with this investigation.”
Reform later confirmed that Mr Lowe had lost the whip.
The MP said he spoken at length with a senior barrister hired by the party to look into what he described as “a minor staff matter”.
He said he would be “seeking legal advice immediately”, adding: “I have just spoken to the KC. She is dismayed that this statement has been made, and reiterated that no evidence against me has been sent to her.
“She stated that this has been issued before the investigation has even started.”
It comes after internal splits within the right-wing party, which has five MPs, opened up on Thursday as Mr Lowe told the Daily Mail that Reform remains a “protest party led by the Messiah” under Mr Farage.
Asked whether he thought the former Ukip leader had the potential to become prime minister, as his supporters have suggested, the MP said: “It’s too early to know whether Nigel will deliver the goods. He can only deliver if he surrounds himself with the right people.”

Trouble in paradise?
Depends on your definition of paradise though I do appreciate the sentiment.
This is the baggage populists like Reform UK carry. The Brexit Party, Ukip were the same. Wherever they went controversy followed them like a bad odour. Am I shocked? Not really. They are a party full of racists xenophobes and former football thugs. But this has happened before. It’s not new. Remember the fight in the European Parliament between Ukip MEP Steven Woolfe & Mike Hookem. This what happens when you allow clowns to free run of the circus.
Oh very much the same as members of Labour Party then
You musk right? The fellow that likes nazi saluting and runs a hate site and wants to lob loot at this bunch of reform chancers (nige defends the salute and defended vance, wonder why). You know his team, doge, that are gutting the US government and destroying years of work? You know links are coming to light with members of that doge team and Russia? I mean, it is never that far away with this bunch, do we have putins useful idiots sat in parliament?
Hows 47’s polling in the UK? Sooner this party implodes the better.
Serious stuff.
But we know the amount of abusers that nige likes to interact with, President of that Oligarchy state, the US, Musks hate platform faridge wants loot from, faridge rates tate, the fella on the hook for some truly horrendous charges against women. And an MP that has a conviction for assault on a woman.
But here he is doing something, as he should, but ignoring all the rest.
“Reform chairman Zia Yusuf, who said the matter was now “with the police”, without saying which force”.
Didn’t know Palm Beach Police Dept had jurisdiction in the UK.
I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked.
Adrian, PLEASE HELP !
Has anyone got any popcorn?
On a day when Richard Tice was embarrassed by himself and a reporter in Scotland, we hear, whether true or not, a story of either bullying or lies and backstabbing. Misogyny and/or racism are likely to be behind the turmoil with the name of one of their five MPs mentioned in the piece a known racist and another one a woman beater, this shower of inepts couldn’t be trusted to hold a meeting in a village hall without chairs being thrown and someone voting for them wants them running the country?
I might be wrong but don’t Reformers get excited by these kinds of nefarious goings-on? It’s almost definitely a vote winner.
How Lowe can Reform get?
All we need now is for Lowe to call out Farage as a Russian stooge. Icing on the cake!
