Paul Mullin scores twice as Wrexham keep pressure on leaders Notts County
Wrexham kept pace at the top of the Vanarama National League with leaders Notts County as two Paul Mullin penalties secured a 2-0 home win against lowly Scunthorpe.
Mullin converted his 26th and 27th league goals of the season in either half and Phil Parkinson’s side remain five points behind the Magpies.
The Dragons extended their unbeaten league run to 20 matches and remain unbeaten at home.
Wrexham midfielder Luke Young hit the crossbar with an audacious effort from the halfway line before Mullins scored with his first spot kick in the 24th minute after he had been fouled by Ben Everton-Richards.
Mullins won a second penalty in the 80th minute when he went down under goalkeeper Owen Foster’s challenge and duly converted.
