Controversial plans for a temporary bar selling food and drink on an Abersoch boat business forecourt have been withdrawn.
Gwynedd Council’s planning enforcement unit had recently investigated at the Abersoch Land and Sea site on Lon Garmon.
It is understood that food and drink structures are now being removed from outside the business.
Council planning watchdogs say they will now “continue to monitor” the situation at the former garage site.
A retrospective planning application for temporary change of use of parts of the existing business to sell food and drink was formerly removed by the applicants on August 19.
The applicants are listed on the Gwynedd Planning application as Land and Seafood Bar Limited.
‘Removed’
Plans for the site had previously garnered a raft of objections over public safety, nuisance and potential for anti-social behaviour.
Gwynedd Council’s central licensing sub-committee had also turned down a premises license to sell alcohol at the site.
A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “A retrospective planning application for temporary change of use of parts of the existing business premises to food and drink related uses at Land and Sea, Abersoch was withdrawn by the applicant on August 19, 2022.
“The application included the temporary positioning of mobile drinks order/dispense trailer, mobile food order/dispense trailer, moveable toilet container unit , moveable food preparation container unit and moveable customer seating units.
“Following an enforcement investigation by the Council’s Planning Services, it is understood that the moveable structures associated with the food and drink related uses are in the process of being removed from the site.
“We will continue to monitor the situation as part of the enforcement investigation.”
