BAFTA Award-winning Welsh actress revealed as newest Hollyoaks cast member
A BAFTA Award-winning Welsh actress has been revealed as the newest member of the Hollyoaks cast.
Emily Burnett, from Cardiff, will play a character called Olivia, who has been tipped to cause a bit of a stir on the Channel 4 soap.
Burnett, who is best known for her BAFTA-winning role as Charlie in the popular CBBC series Dumping Ground, said in a statement that she’s excited to “hopefully” be a member of the notorious McQueen family on the programme.
In a social media post Hollyoaks said: “We have another… Cheering megaphone CAST ANNOUNCEMENT! Cheering megaphone @EmilyBurnett97 will be joining the #Hollyoaks village to play the role of… Olivia!
“Red heart She’s bringing the class, the sass, and a big wooden spoon to stir up the McQueen family! It’s time to give Emily a very warm welcome!”
On her casting Emily said: “What to expect from Olivia? Well, she’s classy, very sassy and knows exactly what she wants.
“She is probably someone you don’t want to get on the wrong side of – but I think she has a good heart deep down – especially when it comes to Prince. I can’t wait for everyone to meet her in September.”
Olivia is scheduled to arrive in Hollyoaks on Wednesday September 8 on E4, and then again on Thursday September 9 on Channel 4.
