Catherine Zeta-Jones’ daughter leaves fans doing a double take in rare appearance

The daughter of Welsh Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones has turned heads with her striking resemblance to her famous mum after making a rare public appearance alongside father Michael Douglas.

Carys Douglas joined the Oscar-winning actor at the inaugural Mallorca, Land of Honour awards in Spain, where her father was recognised as a Terra d’Honor ambassador. While the event celebrated the Basic Instinct and Wall Street star’s long career, it was 23-year-old Carys who quickly became a talking point after photos from the evening were shared online.

Dressed in an elegant black gown, Carys posed alongside her father on the red carpet, with many fans noting her striking resemblance to Catherine. Social media users described the pair as looking “identical”, with others commenting that the resemblance between mother and daughter was “uncanny”.

Catherine, who was born and raised in Swansea, remains one of Wales’ most celebrated international stars. After beginning her career on stage and in television, she went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest names, starring in films including The Mask of Zorro, Chicago and Ocean’s Twelve. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Chicago and has often spoken proudly about her Welsh roots.

Carys, the youngest child of Catherine and Michael Douglas, has largely stayed out of the spotlight despite growing up in one of Hollywood’s most famous families. She has occasionally appeared alongside her parents at high-profile events but generally keeps a lower public profile than many celebrity children.

Videos also circulated of Carys showing off her fluent Spanish in an interview with prominent Spanish newspaper El Debate, with Michael on the sidelines beaming with pride.

As new photographs from the gala circulated, fans were once again quick to point out that Carys has inherited many of her mother’s distinctive features, with the rare public appearance prompting fresh admiration for the close resemblance between the Welsh actress and her daughter.
