Huw Edwards does an ‘Ed Balls’ by tweeting his own name
Huw Edwards has emulated Ed Balls by tweeting his own name.
The Welsh BBC broadcaster has prompted comparisons with the former Labour MP, who accidentally tweeted his own name when searching for it on Twitter to see what people were saying about him.
The tweet from Ed Balls sparked a huge reaction on the social media platform, becoming an iconic meme.
A decade later Ed Balls said in an interview: “I didn’t really particularly clock it as a big deal at the time,”
The tweet from Huw Edwards has sparked a similar response.
Sean Rhodes said: “Nice, it’s not quite Ed Balls, but it’s got a ring to it.”
James Marsh said: “Is it Ed Balls Day already?”
Ed Balls himself has even got in on the action.

Ed Balls made his famous tweet on April 28, 2011. The anniversary of the tweet is still being celebrated over a decade later on has become known as Ed Balls Day.
Does this mean that henceforth October 1 will be known as Huw Edwards Day?
