New music venue Misfits Social Club is to open in Cardiff
A new music venue situated in the heart of Cardiff’s student land is to open this week.
Misfits Social Club, situated on Miskin Street in the Cathays area of the city is a 300 capacity grassroots venue promising live music, street food and crafts beers.
With a distinctive interior featuring colourful rock ‘n’ roll iconography it’s sure to be popular with the large student population.
The people behind the venue say live music is at the heart of what they want to do moving forward.
Local music campaigner Daniel Minty, the man behind MInty’s Gig Guide, visited the venue this afternoon.
Massive potential
He said: “I think it’s a fantastic opportunity for a music venue to be placed in amongst a student atmosphere. Giving uni students the opportunity to grow and develop hyperlocally.
“The potential for this place is absolutely massive.
“I really hope the city gets behind it.”
The first gig at the venue will take place next Friday with Sonny Double, Mass Accord and Black Elvis.
Follow the venue on Twitter and Facebook.
