Watch: The hilarious Sorba Thomas video celebrating his Wales call-up
It was the moment Huddersfield Town flyer Sorba Thomas had dreamed of – being called up the Wales squad.
And today his dream came true, when he was named in Robert Page’s squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Czech Republic and Estonia.
The Huddersfield Town winger, who was named Championship Player of the Month for August, made his desire to play for Wales abundantly clear last week with an Instagram post that had every Wales fan cheering.
The player wasn’t best pleased when he saw his new FFA 22 game card. Not only did he take umbrage at his ratings on the bestselling game, but was so mortified that his card featured the English flag, he cut out a tiny Welsh flag and covered over the offending item.
Congratulations to @SorbaThomas on his first call up to the @Cymru national team! 🏴#htafc

Today, Huddersfield Town have released a video which will no doubt endear him to the Red Wall even more.
It featured Sorba and his team mate Levi Colwill, with the newly called up Welshman lampooning his Instagram post, covering up the English flag with a Welsh flag and saying: “That’s better, that’s better. Now you see that. That’s a Welshman. You get it.”
Sorba was obviously delighted at the news tweeting: ‘DREAM HAS BECOME A REALITY’

The player, whose mum is from Newport, has spoken of his aspirations to play for Wales previously.
In a recent interview with the BBC he said: “My mum was born in Newport. If I keep doing what I am doing, I hope I can achieve one of my personal goals and make my mum happy.”
I’m sure Mrs Thomas is absolutely made up today!

We need more people like Sorba – and not just in football.
I have the feeling this guy is going to become very popular with the Red Wall.
Arbennig o dda 🙂
From what I’ve seen of Thomas, he’ll be in the national team before very long. He’s like Shane Williams with a round ball. He’s got a deft touch and he seems to inspire confidence in his team mates. If I were an opposing defender, I’d be bricking it every time he got the ball.
