Welsh comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean is set to join the likes of Moby and Green Party leader Zack Polanski at the world’s largest vegan camping festival this summer.

Vegan Camp Out is one of the highlights of the UK’s festival calendar as well as being one of the most international, with campers coming from over 40 different countries each year.

The event takes place from 14-17 August in Walesby Forest, Nottinghamshire, and involves 4 days/3 nights of camping, talks, live music, afterparties, yoga/meditation classes, workshops and of course the UK’s best vegan food.

This year’s Camp Out is set to be the biggest yet, with a stellar lineup which also includes comedian Diane Morgan, journalist and environmentalist George Monbiot, Drag Race UK standout Bimini, activist Peter Egan as well as comedians Lou Sanders and Henning Wehn.

Laura the Education Officer at The Vegan Society will be hosting the family area with fun activities, games, arts and crafts, face painting, bouncy castles and more!

Hundreds of families attend the Vegan Camp Out as everything on-site is open to all ages. Families get their own personal camping field, away from noisy stages and after party, and the area can only be accessed by those with children. The Line-Up for this area will be released closer to the event.

The event is set to have a huge selection of food – pizza, kebab, smoothies, juices, Indian, ice cream, cakes, Chinese, burgers, hotdogs and more. Gluten-free and raw options are available too.

This year’s Vegan Camp Out has 60 vendors, making it the largest selection of vegan food in UK history.

Sharing the news about Kiri’s inclusion in the lineup on Facebook, Vegan Camp Out wrote: “Kiri Pritchard-McLean is going to bring her comedy to VCO! Who’s ready to laugh?!”

“Welsh comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean is a multi-award-winning comedian, satirist and writer. Kiri has appeared on many of the UK’s most popular entertainment shows, including hosting Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, QI and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order. Kiri’s comedy tackles thorny subjects with humour and grace, often in a deeply personal way.

“In 2024, she embarked on her fourth and biggest stand-up tour yet with her show, Peacock. Kiri hosts her own Radio 4 panel show, Best Medicine, available on BBC Sounds.

“Along with comedian Rachel Fairburn, Kiri co-hosts the popular podcast All Killa No Filla, which has gone on to produce several live shows.”
