Welsh comedians Robin Morgan and Esyllt Sears have joined forces to launch a brand new parenting podcast: Speaking As A Mother.

Robin is a married Dad. Esyllt is a single Mum. Both are technically parents, but neither is sure whether they’re actually parenting. The weekly podcast will see them both discuss their week in parenting, deliver hot takes on the week’s topical news and provide unsolicited
advice to each other and those listening.

Robin said: “I’m so excited for this podcast – Esyllt and I have been friends for years and now I get to call her a bad mother each and every week on the podcast? Perfection.

This pod will have the energy of maybe not a Mum’s whatsapp group, but certainly the side Mum’s whatsapp group where all the good stuff lives. Gossip and side-eyes from day one.”

The first episode includes the merits of doing shots while breastfeeding, writing a book from prison and Robin calls out an old teacher for not inviting him back to speak to the school.

Esyllt added: “I’m at my best as a parent when I manage to nab a family parking spot at the supermarket. At my worst when I need to be doing just about anything else.

“12 years on and I still can’t believe the University Hospital of Wales let me take a baby home with me, so I hope that catching up with Robin every week to hear about his failings will make me feel a bit better about my own.”

Speaking As A Mother launches this Friday on YouTube and Spotify, with a trailer episode currently live.
