A £2.7 million home could have its own padel court built within its grounds under plans put forward.
The Cedars in Llanbadoc, near Usk, already boasts its own indoor swimming pool and gym along with a stable block.
Plans submitted to Monmouthshire County Council show it is now proposed to add a padel court to the grounds.
The application states the padel court would be smaller than a tennis court and would be positioned close to the large house with access from the indoor gym and swimming pool.
“Padel is a ball game which is a cross between tennis and squash,” according to a submitted with the application which adds: “The court is enclosed by mesh fence panels on the sides and safety glass screen at each end. The glass screen is used to rebound the ball during the game. The padel court will have an all weather ‘astro turf’ water permeable playing surface.”
Plans show the court would have colour coated steel box section corners and the mesh fence panels will also be colour coated and will be built between the swimming pool and stables.
The location has been selected to avoid all the existing trees and shrubs on site.
The Cedars was previously advertised for sale with a guide price of £2.7m
The application is being considered by the council’s planning department.
