Brexit Party renamed Reform UK and plan to run candidates in Senedd election
Nigel Farage has got the green light from the Electoral Commission to rename the Brexit Party as Reform UK.
The party is planning to stand over 1,000 candidates at May’s planned elections, including those for the Senedd.
The move adds another populist party to the mix fighting for the list vote at the Senedd election, alongside Abolish the Assembly and UKIP.
One of Reform UK’s policies is to ease Covid-19 restrictions.
“This is great news and the perfect time in the New Year,” Farage said.
“The need for Reform is greater than ever as we try to recover from Covid.
“We have a huge opportunity as a nation post-Brexit, but there are many areas of the UK that need real, bold reform: our economy, House of Lords, BBC, civil service, the voting system to mention a few.”
