Daughter makes plea for funds to treat mum with ‘life-threatening condition’
A daughter has made a plea for help to fund treatment for her mum, who has a “life-threatening condition”.
Niki Jones, who lives in Gwynedd has said she’s “terrified” that she will lose her mum, Sushil Jain, if she “doesn’t get good medical care”.
Her mum, who has been diagnosed with Disseminated Tuberculosis, was rushed to hospital after being found “passed out” by Niki’s cousins. She has been unconscious for more than 48 hours and has been moved to ICU where the bill is around £1000 a day.
Niki, who works as a counsellor, has started a GoFundMe page because while she can cover some of the expenses, she is “unlikely to find the finances to cover her entire treatment”. So far it has raised £2,855.
The funding drive has received backing from the local MP Liz Saville Roberts, as well as its Senedd member, Mabon ap Gwynfor.
Liz Saville roberts has also arranged an emergency visa appointment at the Indian Consulate in London for Niki, to enable her to visit her mum in India.
Dr Sara Louise Wheeler is auctioning off a coat as part of the fundraiser.

‘Tuberculosis’
On her GoFundMe page, Niki said: “My mum was diagnosed with Tuberculosis in August. She was diagnosed and the treatment started almost immediately.
“Upon being rushed to the hospital and having had some emergency scans, she was diagnosed with having Disseminated Tuberculosis, which means that the infection has spread to her brain and this is now a life threatening condition.
“She has been unconscious for the last 48 hours. She has been moved to the ICU where I am told the bill is about £1000 per day. Whilst I can cover some of the expenses, I am unlikely to find the finances to cover her entire treatment.
“If anyone can spare even the smallest amount to help me out, I will be extremely grateful. Maa is only 56 years old.
“I am terrified that I will lose her if she doesn’t get good medical care. If you are unable to donate, I would greatly appreciate if you can share the fund raiser on your social media channels. Help me save my Maa. I am not ready to lose her yet.”
