Harry Potter fans in Cardiff will have the chance to step into the wizarding world as a replica of the iconic Platform 9¾ luggage trolley tours cinemas across the UK.

The magical luggage trolley has been created to mark the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which is being re-released in cinemas worldwide.

The 2001 film introduced audiences to Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger and went on to become the highest-grossing film of the year.

The anniversary cinema release will also feature 12 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage making its big-screen debut.

Fans visiting participating cinemas will be able to take commemorative photographs with a replica of the luggage cart found at London’s King’s Cross Station which is half-embedded in a brick wall to mark the fictional Platform 9¾.

For a limited time, fans in Cardiff will now be able to relive Harry’s first journey to Hogwarts and celebrate the film that launched one of the world’s most popular entertainment franchises.

The luggage trolley will be at Cineworld on Mary Ann Street in Cardiff on August 24 and 25, from 10am to 10pm.

All photo opportunities are free, and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
