A Labour MP is back home after being treated in hospital for Covid-19.
Jo Stevens, the Labour MP for Cardiff Central, and Shadow Secretary of State for Digital Culture Media and Sport, has expressed her “gratitude” to the “wonderful people” who cared for her after she had been taken ill with the virus.
Her team shared the news that her condition was “improving” from her Twitter account on January 5.
Ms Stevens said: “I cannot begin to describe my gratitude to the wonderful people who have cared for me in hospital. They are truly exceptional.
“I feel so fortunate to be back home knowing that for so many families, it has been a very different situation.
“Thank you to everyone who has sent good wishes. This has meant such a lot.”
The leader of Labour in Westminster Keir Starmer said: “So pleased that our dear friend & colleague @JoStevensLabour is out of hospital & back home. Thanks #NHS & speedy full recovery, Jo.”
