Matt Hancock stripped of Tory whip by Simon Hart for entering I’m A Celebrity…

Former health secretary Matt Hancock has been stripped of the Tory whip by Welsh MP and former Secretary of State for Wales Simon Hart after signing up to join I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Mr Hancock was a surprise extra name added to the list of contenders and allies said he would use his appearance to promote his work on dyslexia.

But Chief Whip Simon Hart, MP for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire South and former Secretary of State for Wales, said the situation was so serious he should have the right to sit as a Conservative suspended.

“Following a conversation with Matt Hancock, I have considered the situation and believe this is a matter serious enough to warrant suspension of the whip with immediate effect,” Mr Hart said.

The West Suffolk MP was forced to quit as health secretary in June 2021 after breaking coronavirus lockdown rules by conducting an affair in his ministerial office with aide Gina Coladangelo.

Mr Hancock was among supporters of Rishi Sunak who welcomed the new leader to Conservative headquarters last week but was overlooked for a ministerial job under the new Prime Minister.

He had also reportedly been considering a run to be chair of the Treasury Select Committee, but pulled out of the race on Monday.

‘Human side’

An ally of Mr Hancock said: “There are many ways to do the job of being an MP.

“Whether he’s in camp for one-day or three weeks, there are very few places people will be able to see a politician as they really are.

“Where better to show the human side of those who make these decisions than with the most watched programme on TV?

“Politicians like Matt must go to where the people are – particularly those who are politically disengaged.

“Matt’s of the view that we must embrace popular culture. Rather than looking down on reality TV, we should see it for what it is – a powerful tool to get our message heard by younger generations.”

The ally said producers of the show have agreed that Mr Hancock can communicate with them if there is an urgent constituency matter.

He’s gonna get tortured by the public. He should be sacked for not doing his job. There should be a by-Election.
But then Cruella should be sacked too.
But then there should be a general election anyway to validate this undemocratically appointed PM.
But then Cymru should be free and independent.

We have a disgraced former English Health Minister Matt Hancock, a sitting MP, baring in mind Westminster is not in recess, should be working for his constituents not sunning himself by the pool awaiting a gameshow on ITV, I’m a celebrity get me out of here. I despair? Tory airhead Nadine Dorries did similar a few years back when she didn’t inform her constituency office before jetting off to the Australian jungle. And arrogantly on her return only had a slap on the wrist and was later gifted a position in Boris Johnson’s government where she should have been ordered… Read more »

Hart now in his (wet)dream job – whipping fellow M.P’s. Such an admirable sort. He’d probably get Handcock down on his knees begging for mercy then Hart and that other perv recently reported for trying it on with male staffers taking turns to “punish” the delinquent. Probably the norm for U.K parliamentary party behaviour.

The problem with Matt Hancock taking part in I’m a Celebrity and the humiliation of having to eat the penises or anuses of various animals is that he’s the only Tory MP on the show.

Wouldn’t it be better for a plane full of Tory MPs to be dropped into the jungle and only getting out of there after they’ve consumed generous second helpings of assorted genitals and sphincters.
