The card wrongly sent on Father’s Day

Moonpig has apologised after sending a Welsh language Father’s Day card to the wrong dad.

Lauren Hollie, from Leicester, shared the card on social media, which included a photo of a ‘random’ Welsh family instead of her and her father.

The firm, which sells personalised greeting cards, flowers and gifts, told Nation.Cymru that it was “so sorry to hear that a handful of people had an issue with their orders”.

It also said it takes “pride in delighting” its customers and insisted that it goes to “great lengths to provide an exceptional service”.

In the tweet, Lauren Hollie, a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor, said: “Moonpig sent my dad the wrong father’s day card and now he has a photo of a random welsh family instead of me and him . . . excellent.”

Her tweet shows a picture of four taken at a beach, with the words “Father’s Day” and “Dad” on the front and an uniquely-printed message on the inside saying: “Sul y Tadau hapus mwynha dy ddiwrnod” and with the following names: “Cerys, Rhys, Owain a Ffion” and four kisses.

‘Random’

Another woman, Dani Jones, tweeted with a smiley face: “This happened to my mum with my stepdad’s birthday card last year . . . got a random photo of newly weds.”

A Moonpig spokesperson said: “We’ve had a record breaking Father’s Day this year, making well over a million Dads happy all over the country.

“We take pride in delighting our customers and go to great lengths to provide an exceptional service.

“The response on social media has been overwhelmingly positive, but we’re so sorry to hear that a handful of people had an issue with their orders.

“If they haven’t done so already, we’d like to encourage them to reach out to our customer service team so we can put things right.
