Plans lodged for 44-home development in south Wales village

A housebuilder has submitted further plans for a 44-home development in south Wales, setting out landscaping, appearance and layout details.
Davies and Jones Construction secured outline planning permission in 2023 for the land near Trinant Sports and Social Club, off Conway Road, Caerphilly.
Members of the council’s planning committee agreed to back the proposals, despite some concerns about the proposals to build on a greenfield site, and its impact on a nearby animal sanctuary.
The new application is for ‘reserved matters’, covering the finer details of the development.
Documents show the site – when completed – will include both open-market and affordable housing.
A mixture of a dozen different housing types have been proposed, as well as some flats.
The homes will have off-street parking, according to a report by Evans Banks Planning.
The application is currently out for consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 26/0476/RM.
