Police hunt man following violent disorder that left man dead

Police have appealed for help to trace a man and a van as part of a murder investigation launched following violent disorder which left a 56-year-old man dead.
Gwent Police said officers want to speak to Anthony Paul Jones, 40, from Blaenavon, Torfaen, who they believe can assist with enquiries into the incident in Pontnewynydd, near Pontypool.
They are also trying to locate a blue Ford Transit van, registration MA23 FLC, which was reportedly involved in the disorder and is believed to be missing its front lower nearside panel.
The appeal follows the death of Anthony “Tony” Jones, 56, from Brecon, who suffered life-threatening injuries during the incident on Thursday, August 6.
Police were called to reports of violent disorder involving a group of men in Mill Street at around 7.15pm.
Mr Jones was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
A murder investigation was subsequently launched.
Police have now revealed that a total of 10 men, aged 31, 33, 34, 39, 40, 40, 45, 59, 61 and 73, have been arrested in connection with the disorder.
Three men, aged 39, 45 and 61, have since been released on bail, while seven remained in police custody on Sunday as enquiries continued.

Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Laura Bartley said: “We recognise that reports of this nature will cause concern in our communities, but our officers are working around the clock and conducting enquiries as part of this live investigation.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victim.”
Police had previously appealed for motorists who travelled along Hospital Road, Mill Road and surrounding roads between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday to check their dashcam footage as detectives sought to establish the movements of those involved before and after the disorder.
