Police issue fines after person travels 130 miles from Torquay to attend house party in Wales
Gwent Police have issued five penalty notices for breach of Covid-19 regulations after they a house party near Caerphilly,
They said that a person from Torquay had travelled 130 miles to attend the party in Maesycwmmer.
“This will not be tolerated,” Gwent Police said, saying that “officers attended an address in Maesycwmmer to reports of a house party one person had travelled from Torquay to attend.”
The ‘stay local’ rule was lifted in Wales yesterday but ‘stay at home’ rules remain in place in England until money, when ‘stay local’ rules will come in. Cross border travel will not be allowed until 12 April.
The rules in Wales however still forbid mixing indoors. Six people from two different households, excluding children under 11, are now allowed to meet and exercise outdoors and in private gardens.
