S4C has picked up seven awards at the RTS Wales Awards 2026, with Seren Jones named Presenter of the Year.

The awards ceremony, held at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, celebrates the best television content produced in Wales by both students and industry professionals.

Jones won for presenting Seren Jones: Yn Fyw yn y Dŵr, a Rondo production for S4C. The documentary explores why so few Black and Asian people swim and is available on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer.

A former journalist, Jones is currently filming a new S4C series exploring the story of immigration in Wales.

Rising talent was also recognised, with Malen Meredydd winning the Rising Star Award for her work on game show Y Deis, a Slam Media production. Meredydd serves as casting producer on the programme, which brings together pairs of contestants from across Wales.

Among the other winners, the Factual Entertainment Award went to Y Crwydryn, produced by Docshed for S4C, following country singer Wil Tân on a journey across Wales as he reflects on love, loss and mortality.

Beth yw Pwynt yr Eisteddfod? (Cwmni Da for S4C) won the Digital Original category, while Dreigiau Cadi – Y Briodas (Yellow Barrels for S4C) took the Children’s Award.

The Live Event category was won by Y Sioe 2025, produced by Boom and Slam, while the News and Current Affairs (Item) award went to Newyddion S4C, produced by BBC Cymru Wales.

In total, S4C productions received 21 nominations across 13 categories.

Llion Iwan, Chief Content Officer at S4C, said: “I’m very proud of everyone who has worked on these productions. The number of nominations and award wins are a testament to the quality of S4C’s content and the hard work and dedication of colleagues across the production sector.

“Seren and Malan’s wins show the talent we have working on S4C productions both on and behind the screen, and we remain passionate about nurturing creativity and skills.

“Congratulations to all those involved – I am hugely grateful to you all for your efforts and am pleased to see them deservedly rewarded.”

The ceremony also featured a performance celebrating the popular S4C series Y Cyfweliad, with Bronwen Lewis and Fflur Pierce performing Torri’n Rhydd, a Welsh-language version of Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson.
