A teenage covid stats whizz is planning to create a website on the upcoming Senedd election.

Lloyd Warburton from Aberystwyth, who became an internet “statistics sensation” because of his online coronavirus figures resource, shared his intention on social media.

The vote is scheduled for Thursday 6 May 2021, and the young man has said he intends create explainers, infographics and a piece on tactical voting.

The 17-year-old was recently honoured on the S4C show, Dathlu Dewrder (Celebrating Bravery), which expresses gratitude to young heroes in our society, for his work on the covid website.

‘Coronavirus’

He gained more than 15,000 followers on Twitter after he created the popular site, which displays the data of Wales’ coronavirus case and death stats in each local authority.

Lloyd said: “I’m planning on doing some explainers and infographics in the lead up to the election. I will probably do a piece on tactical voting, especially in relation to the regional list.

In response to an article on the election, he said: “Reminder that I need to start working harder on my Senedd election website.”

The Ysgol Penglais pupil received 6 A* grades, 4 As, 1 B for his GCSE’s and a P2 for his Welsh Baccalaureate.
