Watch: Video shows terrifying moment tanker flips over in face of oncoming traffic on Welsh road

A video has captured the terrifying moment a large tanker flipped over in face of oncoming traffic on a Welsh road.

The vehicle suddenly veers to one side before crashing through a central reservation and toppling over on the A55 in the north of Wales.

The video, which was filmed in a vehicle following close behind the tanker as it weaves across the A55, shows cars on the opposite carriageway just about managing to stop in time, and coming within feet of the tanker as its driver tries to regain control.

One Twitter user said: “Miracle nobody was hurt”.

‘Not carrying fuel’ 

North Wales Police confirmed to the Daily Post that tanker was not carrying fuel.

The white Volvo tanker was travelling eastbound when it crashed through the central reservation just after junction 6 near Llangefni, and finished up on the westbound carriageway, which caused long queues.

The Welsh Ambulance Service was alerted to the incident less than three minutes after it occurred at 3.40pm, and the driver, who is believed to have suffered minor injuries was later taken to hospital at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.
