Ricky Jade-Jones double gives Peterborough comeback win at Newport
Peterborough fought back from two goals down to win 4-2 at Newport and avoid an FA Cup upset at Rodney Parade, thanks to two late goals from substitute Ricky-Jade Jones.
The League Two hosts have earned a reputation as cup specialists over the past six years and they looked to be on their way to another money-spinning run as they raced into a 2-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes.
Anthony Glennon curled in a free-kick from 25 yards for the opener in the eighth minute of this first round tie.
A minute later Kai Whitmore took advantage of some shocking defending to pass the ball into the far corner of Nicholas Bilokapic’s net and double the Exiles’ lead.
But Abraham Odoh pulled one back on the half hour before teeing up Joel Randall to fire in a deserved equaliser in the 71st minute.
Jade-Jones then sealed the League One side’s passage into round two when he fired in off the post in the 89th minute and added a fourth in stoppage time.
