New poll confirms healthy Labour lead over Conservatives in Senedd race
A new poll for the Senedd election has confirmed a healthy Labour leade over the Conservatives as the election campaign enters its final weekend.
Savanta ComRes place Labour on 36% of the vote to the Conservative’s 27% in the constituencies, and on 31% to 21% on the list.
It is the first time Savanta ComRes has polled Wales but is broadly line with a recent YouGov poll showing Labour on 35% to the Conservative’s 24% in the constituencies.
The poll suggests Labour would ensure close to a majority of seats, with 26 to the Conservatives’ 15.
It’s a disappointing poll for Plaid Cymru, and the second since an Opinium poll last week showing them under 20%, with 19% on the constituency vote. They fare better on the list with 21%.
It is however the latest poll to confirm that over 30% want independence for Wales, with 32% for and 68% against, with don’t knows removed.

Conservative – 24%

Lib Dem – 5%
Green – 3%
Reform UK – 3%
UKIP – 2%
Other – 3%
The poll was carried out between 23-28 April.
